Programme, Course & Programme Specific Outcomes

  • The institute is affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur which does the task of designing syllabi through its Board of Studies (BoS) and its implementation in affiliated colleges.
  • The BoS of the University frames the Programme Outcomes (POs) and Course Outcomes (COs) for each programme and course offered by the institution.
  • The POs & COs prepared by the university, are adopted and implemented by the institution keeping in tune with its vision, mission, goal, and objectives.
  • At the outset of every academic year, the IQAC takes review of the PO & CO level of attainments.
  • A meeting is chaired by the Principal for the faculty regarding framing the systematic plan for the POs and Cos communication to students.
  • Each faculty member communicates and explains the POs and COs (in terms of Why, What, When & How) to the students in the class at the commencement of each course taught by him/her.
  • The Programme Outcomes include the broad area of knowledge, skills, abilities, and attitudes in the interest of the overall personality development of students.
  • The ten Programme Outcomes are stated keeping in view UGC guidelines on graduate attributes. This includes domain knowledge, application, analysis, individual and teamwork, communication skills, project/task management, social awareness, environment and sustainability, ethics and human values, and lifelong learning.
  • The revised form of Bloom’s Taxonomy is used while defining the course outcomes.
  • Course outcomes are the statements that describe knowledge and abilities developed in students by the end of teaching the courses.
  • The institute as well as the faculty members focus on developing abilities among the students and not merely the content knowledge.
  • Some of the faculty members are members of the Board of Studies of the affiliating university & autonomous colleges who play vital roles in designing outcome-based syllabi.
  • The institute encourages the faculty members to attend syllabus framing workshops organized by the affiliating university.
  • The affiliating university conducts a yearly academic audit of the institution thru which the PO & Cos attainment levels of the institute are assessed by the duly appointed peer team.
  • The institute has developed a smooth mechanism to make students aware of POs and COs. Also, they are made aware of it at the time of the admission process by the committee members.
  • Also, the POs and COs are displayed on the college website and students are informed about the same.
  • POs and COs are kept in mind while designing, planning, and implementing curricular, and co-curricular activities.
